Example of our glass services

Shop Fronts
Most shop front windows use laminate glass, which conforms to BS 6206. Laminate glass is essentially two pieces of float glass bonded together by a PVC interlayer. The primary purpose of this glass is to maintain security and integrity upon impact, by distributing the force of the impact across the glass surface, while the PVC interlayer holds the glass panes together, creating a distinctive “spider-web” appearance.

Laminate glass can usually be replaced on the same day, as our engineers usually carry this glass on their vans. However, large and/or thicker than normal panes will usually be a next day service, dependant on glass dimensions.

We will be able to give an estimated ETA for the glass over the phone for you. We can install glass for practically any installation, from windows to office partitions.

Girvan toughened glass services

Express Girvan glazing experts offer a variety of safety glass services including toughened glass installations and replacements. Toughened glass will usually shatter into small fragments instead of sharp shards when broken, making it less likely to cause severe injury and deep lacerations. This is particularly useful for certain frames such as cat flaps, glass doors and tables.

Our Girvan toughened glass normally takes three to five working days to order in for both single and double-glazed options. This glass is recommended for Girvan residential customers, as the glass shatters into relatively harmless fragments upon impact, as opposed to the larger, more dangerous shards caused by breakage of normal glass. However, due to the security risk of having a large hole when the glass has been shattered, we do not recommend this for our Girvan commercial customers, whom we offer laminate glass to instead.
